SSC x Diadora N9000 “Porta Ticinese”
“Place of saints and sinners, Porta Ticinese has remained a borderline neighborhood, popular among people with little inclination to follow the rules that govern society. So, the few steps that separate the Columns of San Lorenzo from the Darsena and the Navigli have become a refuge for poets, artists and musicians who have found inspiration in the contrasts of the ever vibrant old district. Today Porta Ticinese is a reference point for fans of Street Culture, whether they are Milan natives or not. The neighborhood represents a door to the world and to the crossover elements that make the city a multicultural metropolis.“
The historical places of the Ticinese Area, like Colonne di San Lorenzo, Parco delle Basiliche and Via Molino delle Armi served as background for the pics shot for SSC by Giuseppe Romano ( @giusepperromano ). Some pics of the Special Sneaker Club x Diadora N9000 “Porta Ticinese” has been shot at @lo_specchio_di_alice , a thrift store that opened on Corso di Porta Ticinese in 1972 and in the last decades welcomed generations of mods, punks and paninari, and now the younger generations that today still appreciate good vintage clothing.
The Special Sneaker Club x Diadora N9000 “Porta Ticinese” is Made in Italy with the best materials. a mix of full grain leather and perforated suede has been used for the uppers , plus a two-layer toebox, reflective detailing and custom tags on the tongue. Everything is completed with mismatched heels in red suede and pony hair with tonal custom embroideries. The midsole used for this pair is full EVA, with black and grey details and black bottom.
The producton for the Special Sneaker Club x Diadora N9000 “Porta Ticinese” has been limited to 94 pairs. Size run from UK 6.5 to UK 12.5.

The retail price is €200 and each shoe will be part of a pack that will comprehend two pairs of extra laces, a pair of socks, a pack of stickers and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
SSC x Diadora N9000 “Tri Scagn”
“The three legged stool is part of the Ticinese Coat of Arms since the 12th century. While according to Milan culture and tradition the symbol has religious origins, among the Milanese this stool is much better known for having given its name to the famous “Alle tre scranne” (Ai tri scàgn) Osteria, tavern which on the threshold of the ancient city walls welcomed travelers from all over Italy who approached Milan from south walking the road coming from Pavia. For centuries, the Sestiere di Porta Ticinese marked the margins of the growing metropolis, representing a sort of skid row full of pubs and brothels. Legend has it that the Milanese nickname for Porta Ticinese — Porta Cicca — derives from the fact the neighborhood was home to many “chicas” or, in less poetic terms, from its small dimensions compared to other gates to the city.

The special location in the Navigli area we’ve chosen to shot the Special Sneaker Club x Diadora N9000 “Tri Scagn” is the @trattoria_madonnina which, founded in 1722, is recognized as the oldest spot in Milan that still works as a traditional Osteria. One of the few places where you can still breathe the true Milanese atmosphere.
